Staff Profile

Alex Barrientos

Associate Pastor of Spanish Ministries

Alex grew up in Guatemala and came to the United States in 2000, where he was encouraged by a friend to think a out what would happen to him if he were to die. After reading and studying the book of Ephesians and coming to chapter 2, Alex saw he needed to confront his sinful condition and that salvation was by faith alone and not works. He repented in faith and put his trust in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross and wanted to share that hope of salvation and life he was so excited and thankful for. Alex began serving at a Pentecostal church he was attending, where he had a deep desire to become a minister of the Word of God, but after being exposed to the Doctrines and Grace and expository preaching, was convicted to make better sense of the Gospel and the non-negotiables of the Christian faith. The Lord brought Alex and his wife Brenda to Grace Bible Church in 2020 and he soon began attending IDEX (Instituto de Expositores) from The Master’s Seminary offering theological training for future pastors. Alex and his family have a deep yearning to minister to the Hispanic community here in Bakersfield for the glory of Christ.
